PROJECT OVERVIEW
Woodmansterne Secondary School is an award-winning new-build education project, delivered as a five-form-entry secondary school with sixth form facilities. The scheme replaced the existing school with a high-specification building, incorporating spacious teaching areas created with advanced building technologies, and strong energy performance, contributing to a BREEAM Very Good rating.
Mihails Cernaks, founder of TA, acted as senior architectural technologist across all stages of the project while working at PTAL Architects. His role included technical design development, consultant coordination, BIM Level 2 delivery in line with ISO 19650, construction information, and Stage 5 site support. The school opened in April 2019 on time and on budget, and was Highly Commended at the CIAT Architectural Technology of the Year Awards 2019.
